Brakes

I recently purchased a 2003 cavalier. 66,500 miles. Had a front break job done and rear drums cleaned (by a well know company. New rotors metallic pads. The brakes are making that kinda of sound just before it gets metal to metal. Car now has 67,000 miles. Work was performed in april of this year, 2007. Ant suggestions, I am not a mechanic.

If the work was just recently done by a “well-known” company, I’m sure it is under a warranty. Take it back to them and have them drive it to listen for the sound.

After only a couple thousand miles, I would take it back and have them take a look and listen.

Either you have one of the hardware clips installed incorrectly or the rotors have not yet broken in and you are hearing the sound of the new pads on the new rotors.
