I recently replaced the brake pads on my 1996 Subaru Legacy. I can hear a grinding noise when I stop. I checked the brake pads again but could not see anything. Please help!
Replaced the front or rear pads? Or both?
Grinding is coming from the front or back?
Grinding only present with the brake pedal depressed?
Can you tell if it’s from one side or the other?
Info might help. If one assumes the pads only were replaced on the front with no rotor servicing then a wild guess might point to a brake pad clip or spring rubbing on the rotor, a rotor shield inadvertently bent and rubbing the rotor while doing the job, etc.
