I recently had to replace two of my brakes because one of them had burned up and the cylinder exploded in smoke, and the springs had gotten so hot that they had no spring left in them. My father had a little bit of a hard time putting the drum back on and it is tight right now. He says since it doesn’t lock up on gravel, it is ok for now; we are waiting to let it wear down. Is that what will happen? It was hot and it smelled again today after a few weeks… will it just take a long time?
