The Brake lights on my '88 Dodge (Mitsubishi) Ram 50 come on intermittently, sometimes hours after the truck has been driven. Where do I get started looking for the cause? Btw, the truck is very low mileage, about 41k.
I would start by looking at the brake light switch.
