Brake booster

'97 GMC 1/2 ton pickup V8 1500. Complete Electric Diagnostic test done to determine why truck stalls &/or dies at stop lights in the evening. Occassionally starts rough, as well. Have been told the electric diagnostic test results showed that a brake booster was the problem. My question: can a brake booster cause the truck to stall or die?

Also play dead and stay dead. Stalling and stumbling and any other condition of running strange. Vacuum loss can do things.

I don’t see how a “electric diagnostic test” (is this a code scan?) led to this diagnosis.

You can disconnect the vacuum source to the boster and cap it off to see if the problem goes away.

Did you have a “check engine” light? any codes? current or history?
