Body Work and Car Waxing

After you’ve had body work done on a car, which involved repainting, do you need to wait any certain length of time to let the paint cure before you wax the car? I was told one should wait 6 months. Is this true?

Anytime I do a repaint, I tell the owner not to wax the area for thirty days.

Meguiars suggests 30 to 90 days.

Thanks for the really quick response. I greatly appreciate it!

I tell all my customers wash it all you want but do not wax for 90 days.

When I’ve had work done, I’ve been told not to wax it for thirty days. I’ve also been told to stay away from any high-pressure car washes for a while.
