Bill Bryson sometimes writes amusing stuff about cars. I read one of his short segments the other day. He asks why, when he buys a new car, why do folks immediately ask about the mpg? Or the engine size in liters? Or the torque? How many cams does it have? … lol … and he furthermore likes to complain about the nearly impossible to decipher control icons . How can anybody be expected to figure out that a rectangle looking like a tv set w/poor reception means the rear window defroster? He says on another dashboard he noticed it has two circular dials of equal size. One was clearly for the vehicle’s speed, but he had no idea for the purpose of the other. The pointers on that one seemed to rarely move, and when they did, had nothing to do w/the car . Then he discovered it was a clock … lol …
