I have a Volvo 850 with a dead battery. When I jump it from another car, starts fine. recently removed the positive post to clean. When I try to start now, the engine will turn over but will not fire up. I am told there is no “fire” to the distributor. Car has gas. No alarm system. Thoughts???
Sounds like two separate problems…One you have cured by cleaning the battery posts. (Clean them BOTH). Will it still start if you jump it ??
I will try jumping. I was curious also if there is a wire attached to the positive post that might lead to the distributor cap or the ignition system. Maybe it “fell off” when the positive cable was removed from the battery and cleaned…???
