I remember one on my mothers station wagon. It was suspended from the window. Forward motion would turn the squirrel cage to blow air across the water filled canister.
I haven’t seen one since the early 60’s are they still being manufactured?
Since almost all new cars come with air conditioning these days, I doubt there’s enough of a market for them. However, they are still available as roof units for RVs.
