What transmission fluid is equivalent to

Type A (1959 Dodge owner’s manual)

LubLine.com sells Type A and also says either Dexron II or III meets Type A specs. LubLine is a wholesaler, so getting Type A may require you to buy much more than you want.

Pennzoil.com doesn’t mention Type A at all, presumably because there is little market for it.

Dextron, Dextron II, or Mercon will work. See the attached link.
