My son’s 1984 Mercedes Benz 190D shifts smoothly from first to second, but when shifting from second to third comes out of gear as if in neutral. Is this as bad as I think it is?
Well, it’s certainly not a good sign.
When were the transmission fluid/filter last changed?
Have you checked the level, the color, and the smell of the fluid?
