Our '94 Dodge RAM250 is our vacation vehicle. Old but in great condition. 120K miles.
When going up a hill, it should first come out of overdrive then if the hill gets steeper, downshift into passing gear. The car slows until it needs to go into passing gear, then double downshifts - making for quite a jerk with the car. Is there an adjustment I can make?
You need to start by adjusting the TV cable at the throttle body. If its too loose, you will have early shifts and late or no kickdown. Too tight and you will have late shifts and early kickdown.
