Ask Someone: 2017 Chrysler Pacifica #1599914924

Chrysler Pacifica 2017 seems like it’s about to stall?

Just noticed that the van is idling weird. If I am not moving, it goes and almost stalls, then RPMs pick back up. It goes in cycles. It doesn’t happen all the time, but happens enough that I am getting concerned. As this is happening the voltage is fluctuating when I watch the gauge. ~14v down to ~10 (almost stall), then back up, then back down, etc…

Not sure if it is related, but when I press the ignition start, the car start fine, but it’s not as ‘clean’ of a start as a brand new car. Not bad by any means though. It has never not started.

Any ideas of what could be the problem before I bring to a mechanic? Any ‘known’ issues with this on Pacifica’s?

I’m the original owner and have generally maintained it.

Is the check engine light on? Can you scan it for any stored codes that may not be setting a CEL?

A mechanic with a scan tool can watch the data from the engine at start-up to help identify problems that haven’t set a CEL yet.

Thanks. It’s sporadic, so it doesn’t happen all the time. Even when it happens there is no check engine light.

Have someone try cleaning the electronic throttle body.
