The engine emergency coolant lights goes & car does not start?
We can not see the post of whom you are asking if their engine is overheating.
The car in question is an eleven year old hybrid, my recommendation is to have a dealership sort out whatever problem he/she is experiencing. If over heating, has the cooling system been serviced at required intervals? If the owner allowed severe overheating, that maybe why the engine will not start.
