Another oil question

We used 15% for our 2003 Olds Silhouette and the engine was running fine without oil use at around 180,000 miles when we donated it. The GM OLM is a sophisticated system and has been in use since the late 1980s.

Agreed. A few months ago I sold my 2006 Trailblazer. I followed the Oil Life Monitor, and the oil change interval varied from 4000 to 9000 miles depending on my driving habits.

It should be repeated that relying on the onboard OLM on any car requires using the correct manufacturer’s specification oil and keeping it full. It’s hard to believe that people don’t understand the difference between changing oil and checking/adding as needed.
