Compressor has failed in a '94 Lexus SC300 at approx 100k miles. Honda dealership has quoted $2200 for the repair. Any thoughts?
My first thought is that you shouldn’t be taking a 15 + year old Lexus to a Honda dealer.
Find a good independent air CONDITIONING shop. Emphasis on “good”.
Did it fail as in comming apart internaly? That high price sounds like it did and the Dealer is quoting a price to get very agressive in getting all the debris out of the system.
What other parts besides the compressor is on the estimate sheet?
Get away from the dealer. Find an independent AC shop and save some money.
