Ac repair

01 crown Victoria, ac was recharged but it doesn’t blow cold or hot air. When it is turned on, my car would make a very loud vacuum noise, thats embarrassing. The rpms go up, and if I’m at a stop light I have to hold the brake or the car would take off. Any help?

If the blend doors are vacuum controlled a failed line or component could be the problem. Can you pinpoint the source of the noise?

I’m with Barkydog. The vent doors on this car are operated by vacuum from the engine. With a large vacuum leak in the blend door system, the engine is getting a lot more air, and revving up similar to having your foot partially on the throttle. The A/C control system needs to be looked at and the leak repaired to fix this.
