We might even call the R2 a mass market model with an expected MSRP of about $45,000 it comes in a little under the average sales price of $47,000 for all new cars. They may mean something only slightly less expensive. Kia, Ford, Chevrolet and Tesla start a little under $40,000 before rebates.
Rivian stock was $10 and it jumped up to $16 and now it’s $13. I would say a 30% bump is nice for 1 week. Next month?
Too volatile for me.
As a marketing professional, I would guess that’s because the ovoid headlights are part of Rivian’s brand language. Putting them on Amazon delivery vans would seriously dilute the brand and undermine its cachet.
The other side is that Amazon trucks are literally everywhere, seen by countless people every day. Companies would do almost anything for that kind of free advertising. If Amazon trusts that brand truck for their fleet, don’t you think people will look at that as some kind of endorsement for Rivian? I see it as an upside for them if the headlights matched…
Interesting that the saudis discovered a couple new oil fields. Don’t know what the impact will be but likely push prices down.
I doubt it. Saudi Arabia has sufficient reserves to to control the price in either direction without these additional reserves.
Yep, Saudi Arabia doesn’t produce at capacity today, so new fields won’t change that. They will extend their ability to reduce prices when they want.
