A/C Hoses

I’ve heard differing figures so I was hoping for some more opinions. With service hoses for R134a, about how much refrigerant can you expect to remain in the lines per foot? I’ve heard as much as an ounce per foot. I also figured it’d be different for the high side hose than the low.

I forgot to purge before disconnecting and am trying to figure out how much I lost. My plan is to use a scale to recharge 2oz and check the cycle rate and vent temperatures, and then repeat with another 2oz shot if necessary. But I need to know how much will stay in the hose. I also figure that even if I purge, I’ll have about 1/2oz left in the hoses anyway. Does that sound about right?
