A/C Compressor Honda 2004 CRV

I have 95,000 miles on my 2004 Honda CRV and the air conditioning compressor has imploded twice: once at 35,000 miles and once at 94,000 miles. Metal fragments were distributed in all of the refrigerant lines. To correct the problem, the dealer replaced all air conditioning parts that contained refrigerant. The work was done under warranty, but would have cost $2400 if I had to pay. I want to drive this car another 100,000 miles. To avoid imploding compressors, I thought about just having an independent mechanic replace the compressor every 30,000 miles as preventive maintenance. What is the matter with this compressor anyway. I need some advise. Thanks for your help.
