Comedian Steven Wright seems to have an unusual perspective on carsâŠ
âA cop stopped me for speeding/ He said, âWhy were you going so fast?â I said, 'See this thing my foot is on? Itâs called an accelerator. When you push down on it, it sends more gas to the engine. The whole car just takes right off. And see this thing [mimes steering wheel]? This steers itâ
I guess the above post is supposed to be funny .
Stephen Wright spparently thinks it isâŠâŠ
Comedy is an art form. To each his own. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Not every opinion needs to be stated in the forum though.
But Volvo DID state his opinion in the forum, apparently much to your disliking
Add ME to that list, as I donât think that the joke was funny, either
I saw my first Tesla Cyber truck in a parking lot this afternoon. Ugly, impractical, and useless looking. It was âwrappedâ with a business name and logo prominent. Expensive rolling billboard basically.
Somehow, I just canât imagine anybody actually using the Cyber âtruckâ as a work vehicle, which would typically mean eventually denting and scratching the âbedâ, imo
I might not even concider a business that has a Cyber Truck or any vehicle associated with Elon Musk.
Pretty funny, George. I pulled that same line on a female cop more than a decade ago and it delighted me to see her smile and make up a weird face.
I was pulled over by a female local police officer for speeding and when she walked up to the window, I told her I was guilty. She asked me why was I speeding and I told her it wasnât me but rather the car. She gave me that weird look and said â You are operating the car. Duh!â I then said â But I never thought the car would be flying like that.â
Sure, she wasnât buying my words and demanded I handed my license to her. She then went to her car for about 8 minutes then returned with a warning.
As she walked away, she gave me that weird look again
Wrapping a stainless steel vehicle seems kinda strange.
I wouldnât have let you off with just a warning
I think it helped that the cop was humor-friendly, and highly possibly she felt sympathy towards my disability.
It was an awkward encounter and she seemed pretty cool.
Plus, Iâm kinda charismatic when Iâm being goofy
Wrapping is common for businesses, has the advantage that it can be removed. Paint, especially on stainless, is likely much more expensive.
I too, have seen wrapped cyber trucks. Like putting lipstick on a pig.
A cop asked me why I was speeding, I told him it was because I couldnât find a slow moving farm implement to hold me up when I really needed it. Cops donât have a sense of humor.
They do, just not while doing there job and asking a question, then getting stupid answers⊠I have delt with about all the law enforcement agencyâs from local, state and feds, most are pretty cool, and nice⊠They just have a job to doâŠ
most = there are a holes in every businessâŠ
SW delivered same routine , audience liked it. The other night, recent Johnny Carson re-run
