I just bought a used bug…the check engine light came on a week later and I took it took get the little test thing. They said there was a air pressure issue. Probably a hose or a fuse. The other day the car stopped in the middle of the road as if I had staled (its a manual). It will not turn over, but sounds like something is spinning when I turn the ignition. It doesn’t sound like a starter issue to me (or at least not the way Toyota starter issues sound) This is my first VW and I don’t know much about them yet. Does this sound like an air pressure issue or something completely different?

We need to know the code. Sorry but "..a air pressure issue." does not tell us much. You need to have the codes read again, if possible or get the exact code that resulted in the air pressure description. Some places will read them for FREE. Try Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts. Get the exact code (like P0123) not just their translation into English and post it back here.
