Two things are happening which may or may not be related. I am an average driver. Car has 160,000 miles and looks perfectly clean inside and out including engine.
1. in the last 4 months, sometimes when I first start the car I smell gas fumes for a few minutes. 2. When my gas light comes on I put in 2 gallons of gas and the light comes on again in 13 miles (I have repeated this at least 10 times) so a few days ago I put some GUNK fuel injector cleaner and my milage is way better. 26 miles for two gallons of gas.
