Just the other day the driver side door latch stopped working and will not engage when I close the door. I took the lock out but I can’t see anything wrong with it. VW quit making those locks so I can’t buy a new one or find a used one. I now use a strap through two open windows to keep the door closed. I just hope it doesn’t rain. HELP!!!
If you can’t see anything wrong, you are not looking hard enough.
Sounds like you should take it to a professional. If it rains, can you roll up the driver window and enter through the passenger door?
For a used part, have you tried a junkyard? Auto parts stores do not carry things like this.
