My 95 Toyota Corolla wagon has 178,000 miles on it and is in pretty good condition. My mechanic told me that the struts are worn out and the cost would be about $700 for replace; if I did he thinks I could get another couple of years out of the car because it is very well taken care of. Is it worth doing for this old a model?
If you want to keep it, you’ll probably notice quite an improvement if you do all 4. They wear out gradually, you don’t notice it.
Yes, it’s worth it. Some Corollas last 300,000 miles, so assuming yours is well cared for you should be able to drive it for many more years.
Besides, can you replace the car for $700?
I didn’t think so.
