Hi, I have a '94 mercedes benz s-series with a 4.2 litre v8 engine, 246,000 miles, starts all winter without pause and runs great. Has all the bells and whistles (leather heated seats, air bags, sun roof, automatic door closer, tinted double paned windows, etc.) but is lousy on gas. It does not pass inspection because it needs new coil springs and a speedometer. I would like to get rid of it and get something newer, better on gas. What’s my best option for a vehicle like this? Will I just have to scrap it?

I’ll take it, we don’t have inspections. You need coil springs to pass an inspection? I don’t understand that. What state do you live in?
I would avoid Craigslist, too many crooks.
Craigslist works okay if you stick by a couple of simple rules…Cash only, U.S. Currency only. Buyer picks up car in person. No other terms are acceptable…
