When I heard this, this instantly reminded me that I did have to bring my '95 into the dealer for a TSB/recall campaign to fix the shifter because… a lot of people were having their Jeeps slipping out of park. Mine didn’t get so bad that I really thought I needed the update but I got it anyway. They updated the brake/ignition switch/transmission selector interlock mechanism and now it’s actually hard to get the key out if you didn’t push the shifter all the way. And to get it out of the locked phase, the brake now needs to be firmly depressed where it hadn’t before.
Total cost = 0, anyone still without the update should get it fixed!
