I have a 92 Corsica with a 6 cylinder engine. This afternoon, it started up on a dime (as it usually does) and then after just 2 seconds, it simply died. Now I can crank on it all I want and it just wont even try to fire.
I flooded it trying to get something out of it (I could smell the gas when I popped the hood), and I can hear it running, so I’m pretty sure the fuel pump is working.
Any thoughts?
Additional Info: all the plugs and wires were replaced in June 2008. And I filled up about a week ago and have since used about a quarter tank (currently have 3/4 tank of gas. I also replaced the alternator about a month ago (notorious for alternators going bad). The car has 224K miles on it and still does not burn any oil. It’s been a most reliable car for years, except for the alternator.
I cannot find my maintenance book, and I don’t remember how to pull the codes out of the computer. Anyone want tell me how to do that?
Thanks in advance.
