So my wife is driving the '91 Pathfinder 4x4 (150k miles) and the automatic suddenly feels like it shifted into neutral. Engine is fine, park is park, but all other gears = neutral. Fluid has been maintained and was changed a year ago. No warning symptoms, just sudden loss of connection between engine and wheels. Shifting into 4WD makes no difference.
Any ideas?

But what is it’s level and condition now? How many miles before it was changed? How many miles since?
Fluid has been maintained at proper level and is good color and smell, only about 5K miles since change. This was the first change since a full rebuild at 110k. I’m hoping for something simple like a bad line pressure solenoid.
