91 Olds Cutless, 120K, 6 cyl
When hot and turned off, won’t start, some times. Help!
It could be any number of faults.
A few may be: poor/dirty/broken battery cable connections (Check BOTH ends) even deteriorated cables themselves (especially if these are the originals).
A weak battery (a cranking starter uses more juice than anything else on or in a vehicle)
A fuel system fault
A partially plugged air filter
An ignition system problem
Perhaps a low cylinder compression or,
maybe a faulty EVAP system
Even a heat soaked starter will cause a hot starting problem.
An ignition system problem
And don’t forget the coil(s). They don’t like much heat when they start getting old.
