Developed a mechanical scraping noise. If you take the drive belt off the noise is not there. So I replaced the power steering pump, alternator, water pump and AC compr. I am now thinking it is the crankshaft balancer assembly.

ANY SUGGESTION OR HISTORY? Thanks

This kind of thing is usually caused by a bad bearing in the idler pully, the least expensive thing to replace.

Yeah about $20. The balancer can go south due to the rubber coming apart and 'spose it could scrape on the crank sensor. You’d think there would be some drivability problems though with that.

Idler pulley => tensioner pully
