I have a 87 Jeep Cherokee inline 6 auto 4x4. It starts fine but when it reaches operating temperature it stalls and then have to wait at least 20 minutes to start again but will stall after brief distance. I have replaced the ignition coil and module as well as the distributor with pickup coil but no change, what else could be the issue, help?
Possibly the ignition switch is defective. To test, you could run a fused wire straight from the battery to the ignition coil. Disconnect when the truck isn’t being driven. If the engine no longer stalls, replace the ignition switch (the wire part, not the lock cylinder part).
