Hard shifting when cold. Shifts roughly at around 45 mph…Kinds slips/clunks into reverse…Do i need to replace tranny. It was rebuilt about 100,000 miles ago… Or is there an easier softer way…
During the last 100K miles, how often have you changed the transmission fluid?
I am not sure if was changed but the oil is pretty black…
Black fluid = overheated transmission. It needs to be rebuilt again. Automatics need to be serviced every 25-30k miles regardless of what owners manual says. This transmission probably could have lasted much longer with proper care.
