‘6 More Things E.R. Doctors Wish You'd Avoid’

Never put your feet on the dashboard.

If you’re in the passenger seat of a car, it can be tempting to put your feet on the dashboard. But don’t do it – ever – said several doctors, including Ryan Gerecht, E.M.S. medical director at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

Airbags deploy in less than one-twentieth of a second; when that happens, he said, you have no time to move your legs. The result, Dr. Gerecht said, is that “the knees and the hips and the legs can be forcefully pushed into your face, or strike your head, which can cause a traumatic brain injury.”

Sounds painful! I’d have to be a contortionist.

One more IS car related… Safety glasses. They mention cutting grass but doing any work on your car, especially with power tools, your eyes are at risk. Wear protection.

One of my neighbors was mowing her back lawn in bedroom slippers. She is a doctor!!. No fooling.

Doctor of What?

Warning, a joke is coming…

What do they call the person with the highest academic achievements in a Medical School Graduation Class?

They are called a “Valedictorian”

What do the call the person with the lowest academic achievements in a Medical School Graduation Class?

The other contributors from FL can attest to this, motorcycle riders, shorts and tennis shoes, FL does not require helmets.

In the 60s would have police visiting school to talk safety. They did suggest jeans and long sleeves when riding motorcycles. This was when we could get licensed for a Honda 50 at 15, no helmets required.

Neither does New Hampshire. New Hampshire is running an ad campaign saying that 55% of motor-cycle deaths in NH the driver wasn’t wearing a helmet.

Helmetless motorcycle riders = organ donors.
