$233 to replace spark plugs on a 2005 Chevy Malibu 4 Cylinder?

I absolutely believe the mechanic’s class was a great choice. I could have changed my own plugs, but decided to use the dealership, somewhat because of the price I had to pay for a customized van and the potential for voiding any warranty.
Though not a certified mechanic, I had changed out an engine on an early 60s pickup and rebuilt my share of carbs in that era. As a kid I spent a number of years in the pits are Green Valley Raceway with my uncle–a master mechanic who built engines for dragsters in the early to late 60s.
Experience was not an issue, just a naiveté.
I have to say, over 37 years I developed an intimate relationship with that van. Changed out at least 4 (maybe 5) transmissions, and one engine. A number of brake jobs and pretty much any repair that did not require opening up the engine. That’s only because the old 400 was a tank that just kept running, as long as it was maintained. Sold it a few years ago and now I want it back!

I was going to take a Google-overhead-look at the raceway, but there seems to be references to green valley raceways in texas, alabama, and utah.

Texas-Jr. Busby was my uncle’s name. He died in the 80s due to a lifelong habit of smoking 4 packs of Camel Shorts (no filter) and swearing “these things won’t hurt you.” Her also believed the moon landing was a hoax. Interesting guy.

As a kid my neighbor did the same, said the same. He was correct in his case, wasn’t paying attn one day walking across the street, got run over by a big rig.

Green Valley Raceway, Texas

OK, found it, or at least where it used to be, gps == 32.896667 -97.210278

Fancy subdivision full of homes w/big swimming pools seem to be encroaching, somebody’s still doing donuts there though … lol …

Lighting a cigarette?

But was he smoking a cigarette at the time?

I don’t trust Jiffy Lube for any repairs. You need to find a high quality shop with honest mechanics.
