Have you at least called the Clarksville dealer Tester posted the link to, to see if it IS available or not??
That is a corporate catalog site that directs potential customers to their local dealer to process the customerās orders. When I clicked the link, it showed a dealer near me, so I changed locations. I donāt really live in Avondale, AZ.
If the part is on national backorder at their location, it is on national backorder for everyone.
Dealers have dealer parts locater accessibility that shows which dealers have that part number in their inventory, this is used as a last resort when warehouses do not have the part. When one dealer calls the other dealer to see if they will sell the part, the typical response is āThe part was ordered for a customer, the part is on hold for a customerā.
The part shows available, but if you actually order it, then you find out about the national backorder. So far, none of the suggested links have resulted in a real part.
Yeah, I didnāt look that deep into it, just going off what Tester had posted about he had just placed the order in reply # 6ā¦
I figured it would have not let him get that far if not availableā¦
Didnāt see the harm in making a simple phone call to the dealer, or better yet, the OP trying to order it from the Clarksville dealer just to see what it saidā¦
I used to deal with almost all the dealers in and around Nashville, and I canāt tell you how many times that I had to call around to different dealers (same make) to find a part, they were not all connected on, meaning one GM dealer would say no one close has it, and another GM dealer would have it, or able to get it were the others GM dealers could not⦠used GM as an just one exampleā¦
And itās just an air deflector. Itās not a support bracket. I bet you could duct tape the broken air dam and win.
That would work if he was doing the repair himself, but a business is not going to do extra work like duct tape a part and then assemble the rest of the car, just to have to disassemble the car back down to the back ordered part and reassemble it all over again for free⦠And the insurance company will not pay until the job is completed and signed off onā¦
I am going through a similar situation. I am waiting for a right center mount pillar. My car has been waiting for this part since September 2024! The part is not available and is on back order with no eta. I leased the car brand new in March of 2024. I called, written letters, spoken with the top customer service rep, all to no avail. No one is willing to do anything helpful. It was a brand new car!! They are still making this model so I donāt understand why they donāt have the part. I still have to make car payments and car insurance for a vehicle that I cannot drive.
I too am looking for any suggestion!!!
R. Myrick
Unless Iām misunderstanding something, this isnāt a part thatās keeping you from driving the vehicle?
Itās unclear to me whether he is referring to the structural part, or the interior trim part that covers the structural part.
Unfortunately not much anyone can do about a back ordered part, so no amount of complaining about it will help, back ordered parts are nothing new⦠You might ask about swapping the lease out if it is at the dealer for the repair⦠Sales guys are always (some anyway) in the service lane trying to trade you upā¦
Sorry you are having this issueā¦
This is structural. The car was in an accident
If it was the other partyās fault, you should have a rental at their expense. If you were at fault, maybe your insurer has a similar deal. If it was someone elseās fault and you are dealing directly with the other guyās insurance company, stop that immediately and get your insurer on the case. Thatās why you pay them too much each year.
Yes, they can not re-assemble the front end without that part.
Was this car in an accident?
Yes, i got tboned
Yes, tboned my they say
The car has be stripped down on the right side.
Repair sections for collision repairs are different than the body sections used during manufacturing of the vehicle.
Vehicle manufactures have been having difficulties with suppliers discontinuing operations, leaving the manufacture in search of a new supplier.
The repair sections look like this, number 4 or 9:
