I drove my automatic transmission (SUBARU IMPREZA), IN LOW GEAR “L”, FOR ABOUT 10 MILES A FEW TIMES . I WAS DOING 60MPH. DID I DAMAGE THE CAR
Your Impreza has a Continuously Variable Transmission so it doesn’t actually have a “low gear.” If you didn’t push the tachometer into the “red line” area you should be all right. I have to ask, though, “Why?”
No damage, mistakes happen, computer control won’t allow damage in that situation. You just used some extra gas.
Does it have a tach? Did you notice it staying at 6000 rpm? Maybe you wondered why tach needle was higher then speedo needle? Maybe not. When motor hits rev limiter, what does it do exactly? I’m curious.
