Brakes locked up car won’t move forward or backward,
Checked parking brake still won’t move. Finally pumped brakes hard 3 or 4 times and the car was then able to move.
Did this happen in the driveway not moving, or did it happen while moving the vehicle…
Could you tell if this was one wheel, 2 wheels or all the wheels locked up??
Have you had any brake or suspension or wheel bearing work done recently???
If the brakes have been removed for what ever reason then it sounds like a caliper bolt may have fallen out…
Transmission and wheel bearing problems could cause this symptom too. But assuming the cause is the brakes, this is a pretty common sort of diagnosis & repair job for a shop. That’s your best bet.
If I had this problem myself (as a diy’er, & presuming this is a 4-wheel disc brake system), I’d first make sure the brake fluid is ok, then I’d determine which wheel(s) had locked up. If one of the wheels involved has the parking brake, I’d start by inspecting that function.
