2018 Subaru Outback - Reasonable price for this work?

Need to reseal the engine in my 2018 subaru outback. Looking for a reasonable price.

What engine?? H4 or H6?

Are you talking every seal and gasket? Head gaskets, all the seals and gaskets on the back of the block (rear main etc)??
Your probably looking at a minimum 25 hours plus parts… so probably at least depending on parts and the cost of labor, maybe $7,000+ range…

But again that is a very quick price and not any type of quote and the price from one coast to the other could be a $2,000 to $5,000 difference in price…

At this point, I would just look at some reman engine prices…

With enough money, almost any car can be kept on road.

Is this another one and done ? I would like to know just what April means by reseal .

If the OP is simply in need of valve cover gasket replacement, that’s a fairly inexpensive job, but ā€œre-sealingā€ the engine could refer to lot of expensive labor.

The Devil is in the details.

A 7 yr old car which requires an engine out repair is not worth owning. Get rid of it.

It takes maybe an hour and a half (on a bad day) to have the engine out of the car and mounted on a stand. It’s not a terrible undertaking.

With no information, who knows? For all we know, a quicky oil change place observed some minor seeping at some gaskets and told the OP the engine needed to be ā€˜re-sealed’.

Six days later, with no response to our questions, I think that this is indeed a ā€œone and doneā€.

Who told you that you need to reseal it?

One week later, with no responses to other questions, it’s not likely that your question will be answered.
