I bought a new Chevy Silverado, the tires are filled with Nitrogen. Is this something that’s makes a difference, and if a tire gets low on pressure can I just put regular air in it?
No, not really. The air you breathe is 80% nitrogen from the start. That is the science lesson for today.
Nitrogen in the tires is mostly about adding dry air with no humidity into the tire to keep the pressure more stable. And a money-maker for the tire stores that I’ve seen charge as much as $79 for this.
Yes, you can fill a low tire with regular old air and everything will be just fine
