2018 BMW X1 - Coolant leak

coolant leaks on passenger side, possible water pump. car currently has 35K miles

If not under warranty then you need to find a Euro Shop or BMW specialist mechanic to work on your BMW… If you want to own a BMW or any luxury Euro vehicle, it comes with at a cost that goes much deeper then just the purchase price…

I am guessing that you have the 2.0 turbo gas XDrive version since you gave no other specs as to what you are driving…
That water pump is about a 8.7 hour job for a pro mechanic with a lift and proper tools, I would not want to mess with it much else recommend a DIYer to even think about trying, and I am sure it probably takes a few special tools as well…

8.7 hours? For a water pump replacement? Wow! And I thought replacing my Corolla’s water pump was an overly time consuming chore. 4 hours, diy’er doing job w/o lift, in driveway.

Your Corolla vs that BMW is about a big of difference as the space shuttle is from a horse drawn log wagon… lol

Again, a lot of shops refuse to work on Euro models for a reason…
