2017 Toyota RAV4 - what’s causing the sound?

RAV4 high mileage . Makes drumming sound on and off then disappears. brakes and rotas replaced but sound continues. took the vehicle to Toyota for inspection they diagnosed a wrong problem an worked on R/R PROP shaft Rear U joint but forked out $1411.15. Some people talk of steering torque

That may have been the rear differential coupling, a common cause of noise on the older Rav4s. Chasing sounds to make a vehicle quieter can be expensive.

If it isn’t the driveshaft(s), I’m thinking wheel bearing, differential, or tire problem. Try swapping the tires around to different positions, see if the sound changes.
