Dealer recommended a kill switch device to switch off battery negative terminal when not driven. Working so far.
What problem did this solve?
Your dealer is an idiot.

Was this a Subaru new car dealer, or a buy here pay here (tote the note) dealer???
this was a Subaru new car dealer.
So, the guy at the dealership told you that the security system would be deactivated, and things like the clock, the settings for the power seats and power mirrors, & the pre-set stations on your audio system would lose their memory, but you didn’t care?
Or, did they not mention these problems to you?
Did not mention preset issues.
Why do it?
Then, I have to question the competence of that person at the dealership.
Just what was this persons job title as I can’t see an actual mechanic giving this advice.
I disconnect my car batteries to prevent them from discharging. I have a clock on my phone, I have no problem remembering the radio stations I listen to, power mirrors stay right where I left them.
People worry too much.
Your car is out of warranty. Take it to someone that knows what they are doing. Finding the parasitic current draw may take some time (cost a bit) but the problem will be solved. Maybe you had this discussion with the dealer already and you don’t want to pay for solving the problem, and they suggested an alternative.
