2017 Subaru Forester - What should I pay for the 100K maintenance?

100,000 mile maintenance

Check your owners manual… You might be able to find it on line if not in your vehicle…

You should pay whatever it costs. More expensive at the dealer that an independent. More expensive in Chicago, IL than in Troy, Ohio.

That is all my crystal ball is telling me.

Is timing belt due?

Definitely not.
It has a timing chain.

There is no ā€˜100K maintenance’ according to the schedules I’ve found. Get your maintenance schedule, make a list of everything needed at your miles/months, include anything skipped in prior service visits, and get a quote from your dealer and one or two good independent shops in your area for that list of work.

I thought 4 cyl has belt and 6 cyl has chain? Where is motor size mentioned in t3xt?

The Forester 4 cylinder hasn’t used a timing belt since 2011.

You have to look in your owners manual for the recommended service. In 2014, there was no 100k maintenance on the schedule, but there was a coolant drain and fill at 110k miles or 11 years. Spark plugs are the costliest maintenance scheduled for 60k miles. The engine has to be lifted up about 4 inches to get at the plugs.

This was first posted on the Car Complaints site 6 days ago and the Op may not even know it is on this Forum. I doubt if we will hear from them again.
