We are snowbirds who winter in Arizona and then return to the Midwest for about 7 months. A car will be left in Arizona parked on concrete inside a carport and protected from direct sunlight. Several neighbors do the same. Some place blocks of wood or carpet strips under their tires in an attempt to protect them from the intense summer heat while their car is stored. My question is are they really prolonging the life of their tires?
New vehicles set on dealer lots for months and you don’t see them doing that . RV owners will put tire covers on for the ones that set outside for years but that is for the suns Ultra Violet rays . If they are adding life to the tire is so little as to not even count.
