There are a bunch of things that can cause that message. But there are a couple of things you can check before going to the dealer.
A loose gas cap can cause it. so, check to make sure it is tight.
A bad battery can cause it too. especially if you had to jump the battery to get the vehicle started. If you have not put a new battery in already it’s about that time it needs to be replaced. you can go to most Autopart’s stores, and they will check your battery for free. And if your check engine light is on, they will also scan your vehicle for codes for free.
