in cold weather temp gauge barely off cold.normal?
OK , assuming you do have a 2017 then you should be asking this of the dealer because you have a warranty .
How short are your trips?
Thermostat probably stuck open, see dealer, under warranty.
15 minutes up to 1 hour, I use my remote starter and let car warm up before I leave and Dealer said this is normal.
After 15 minutes of driving I would expect the coolant temperature gauge to read close to the middle like this;
