Diy’ers shouldn’t fiddle with the hybrid-battery part of the car without proper safety training. So the best option to assess battery health is to take the car to a dealership or shop that has the proper EV training.
The hybrid battery replacement cost in the reference appears to be for a 2014 car. If replacement was in the middle of the last decade, then the price may be more believable.
I have a friend who had a 2007 Camry hybrid and the battery lasted well over 10 years.
14…5yrs on our 2010 Prius, our shop works on a lot of Tpyota hybrids so they wpuld know when it needs to be replaced, 12v batt lasts about 7yrs fot us.
But then the warranty would have covered it.
Unless the events causing failure were not covered, like an accident.
