Does this car have transmission problems?
Only one case was reported and it seems to be minor.
Consumer Reports says too little data for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 Accent. But after the redesign in 2012, transmission reliability was much better than average. Overall the 2013 and 2014 were average.
Are you sure you are seeing a 2016? What does the sticker inside the driver’s door jamb say? Run the VIN and see if that confirms. I only ask because CR makes it seem the Accent after the 2014 model year was sold in very small numbers.
