Unit is locked into “auto” mode, will not return to 2wd. Have checked the fuse and OK. Any ideas ?
When the 4wd system would act up on my old 2000 Blazer, I would either disconnect the battery negative cable or disconnect the wiring harness from the TCCM (Transfer Case Control Module) for a few minutes to reset the system.
Good luck ( and I mean it),

i think my kids GMC Sierra was in auto mode all the time? not sure if he could even turn it off? whats wrong with auto? isnt auto good?
In my case it will rob you of a few miles per gallon, Do you live in a salty road climate? In earlier years it was a bad electrical connection on the transmission, not sure if it applies to your car, but one can hope.
So, switch says, 2wd, auto, 4wd? Where is the hi/lo switch?
It’s a 4 position rotating knob 2hi, auto, 4hi, 4lo
